PRO//connect Gateway

Available now

Gateway is the apparatus connectivity layer. Vehicle-mounted equipment talks to the truck first. The truck can then share a picture with PRO//connect. It is not the phone app and it is not COMMAND//hub.

On the apparatus, Gateway is the edge: several mounted units can share one local path. It is not a second operator panel and it does not take over the unit’s primary controls.

How mounted equipment connects

This is how mounted equipment connects. It is the same stack as the support hub: Equipment → Gateway → Cloud → Command.

  1. Equipment does its job on its own.
  2. Gateway is the on-truck path for mounted units.
  3. Cloud (PRO//connect) can carry a picture when a network is available.
  4. Command (COMMAND//hub) is the later awareness view. It is in development.

The phone app is a different path: one portable unit over Bluetooth, on the phone and the unit. Gateway is for equipment that lives on the apparatus.

Local-first: the equipment’s primary job must still work if the gateway or the network is offline.

Vehicle path

Gateway uses the vehicle data bus as the on-truck path. Message lists, rates, and file formats are not published here yet.

A documentation shell for that vehicle path is in development for manufacturers and integrators. See developer documentation. Where a specification is not ready, pages are labeled Specification in development.

What can be shared later

When a published interface exists, an integration may cover some or all of the following. None of these are a released specification on this site:

  • Identity — which unit is present
  • Status — a short operating state an operator can use
  • Service information — faults and support context
  • Control — optional commands sent to equipment

Control is higher risk. Any control path must fail safe, remain optional, and never be required for the equipment’s primary function. Do not assume remote or cloud control exists.

For manufacturers and integrators

If you want equipment or a vehicle system to use this layer, start with the Partner Program and the developer docs preview.
